About
Alternate Names: Tuamutef
In Funerary works, Duamutef is depicted as protecting the throne of Wesir in the Underworld as with his brothers. Duamutef is depicted as a mummified human with a jackal head. This depiction is most commonly found on canopic jars. The canopic jar which held the stomach was under His protection.
It was not until later times that Hermetic philosophers would associate Duamutef with the element of earth. They made that association because of the Neter Nit and the northern direction.
